Galvannealed Steel
Galvannealed steel is also called alloyed hot-dip galvanized steel. It coats hot-dip zinc such as GI on the surface.
Its difference from GI products is that special heat treatment is made to it before zinc is applied right after it passes through the liquid hot-dip zinc to form the zinc–iron alloy layer between the base steel and the galvanized zinc layer. As the plating layer surface contains iron, it has a dark gray color. With its excellent weldability, paintability, and corrosion resistance, this dark gray steel is usually used for automobiles.
Use: Exterior/interior materials of automobiles, and various home appliances such as microwave ovens, refrigerators, washing machines, and heaters
